What are lentils?
The lentil is the legume of a crop that dates back to the 6000s BC. cultivated in the Middle East. The actual lentil is the seed of the plant Lens culinaris.
Green lentils
These are grown in Canada, U.S., Argentina, Chile and Turkey. We sell the well-known Laird lentils. These are teal in color.
Nutritional value
Lentils have the second highest ratio of protein to food energy of all legumes, after soybeans making them a good supplement for vegetarians, vegans and people who exercise a lot.
