Origin Truffle granules
Originally the truffle comes from China. Nowadays however there are also truffles from France and Italy. The taste and aroma of the European truffle however is very different. The Chinese truffle was first described in 1890. Later in 1994, it was rediscovered by Japanese mushroom enthusiasts.
Extraction of Truffle granules
Truffles are obtained in China in two different ways. One method is to use cultivated truffle farms, the other is to find truffles in the wild. Truffles are selected by hand in China and then dried in the oven. Chinese truffles develop best at altitudes of 3000 metres above sea level or higher.
Applications of truffle grains
The truffle is known for its unique flavours and aroma making it a perfect ingredient for your meal. This ingredient goes best with pasta dishes such as, "Risotto al Artufo, Fettuccine". The truffles contain phosphorus, calcium, sodium, potassium and iron.
