What is Pistachio?
The pistachio (Pistacia vera) is a small tree of the wigwam family (Anacardiaceae). It is related to the cashew. The largest production centres of pistachio are Turkey, Iran and the US. The pistachio is native to Asia, but is widely cultivated in Europe for its edible green seeds, which are also processed in such ice cream.
