Papaya, the tree melon
The papaya is a berry. It is also called the tree melon because it looks so much like a melon. Papaya grows naturally in South and Central America. The papaya fruit used for our powder comes from Brazil. Local Amazonian farmers grow and harvest the fruit organically and receive a fair price for it.
Papaya tastes sweet
Papaya is often found in cans of tropical fruit, so even if you have never tasted fresh papaya, you might still recognise the typical papaya flavour. The texture is similar to that of a Galia melon and the papaya taste is a mixture of melon and peach. Due to the lack of fruit acid in the fruit, it only tastes sweet.
Dried papaya
Our papaya powder is freeze-dried and therefore still contains all the nutrients found in the fresh fruit.
