The chilean wineberry
The deep purple to black maqui berries for this powder are picked in the wild in rain forests in Chile, where they were originally used by the Mapuche Indians.
Production process Maqui powder
Immediately after harvesting and selection the berries are processed into a powder by means of freeze-drying. This drying process also ensures that the naturally present nutrients and phytonutrients are optimally preserved.
Application of Maqui powder
Maqui powder can be mixed with water to make a drink. You can also mix the powder with fruit juice, buttermilk or yoghurt. If you have a blender or juicer at home for making smoothies, maqui powder is definitely an ingredient you can experiment with.
