Origin Hazelnut
The hazelnut is the fruit of the hazel (Corylus avellana), a shrub from the birch family that is native to Western Europe. The hazel can grow up to 6 metres high and generally does not start to bear fruit until after ten years. There are, however, grafted plants that already bear fruit after three years. The kernel of the hazelnut is edible.

Besides the wild hazel, there are also commercially grown hazels nowadays. These bushes are specially optimized for the production of large nuts and nuts with little shell.
Healthy properties Hazelnut flour
After harvest, the hazelnut kernels are roasted. Then the good qualities of the hazelnut kernels concentrated and is processed into a hazelnut flour. The flour has a nice cream to brownish colour with a distinctive taste.
