Origin Celtic Sea Salt
Celtic sea salt is also known as "Sel de Guerande" and it originated in France. This salt is a low-sodium salt, which means that it contains less sodium. The sea salt has been harvested in the same old traditional way by salt farmers in Brittany, France for over 2000 years.
Celtic Sea Salt Fields
The salt fields where this salt is grown consist of gray-blue clay. This clay ensures that important minerals and trace elements are released into the salt crystal. This clay also gives the Celtic salt its unique light grey colour and characteristic taste.
Applications Celtic Salt
Celtic sea salt contains a strong salty taste and is suitable for use in many dishes. The salt has a high residual moisture and this makes the salt not suitable to use in a salt mill. However, it is an excellent substitute for ordinary table salt.
